Extra Virgin Oil Bike Tour and Masseria farmhouses tour

Description

Starting out  from our shop in Montalbano we’ll reach the olive grove plain and the ancient Traiana road with an paved cycling path, with hardly any traffic, full of spots of interest that describe what rural life used to be like. During the tour we explain the history of the extra virgin olive oil, from cultivation to harvest of olives describing the different production methods depending from on its final use. On the trail we will visit an megalithic monument, a fortified masseria farmhouse, a centenary olive trees and a modern mill. An extra virgin olive oil tastings is included. Masseria farmhouses tour: Starting out from our shop in Montalbano we’ll cycle on secondary roads with low traffic to reach three different kinds of masserias. Tour continue slowly on small roads lined by stone with drystone walls, rarely visited cattle track and unique landscapes. Target of the excursion is to show the different kind of masseria located between Ostuni and Fasano and the key role the still have in Puglia’s economic and social scenario. An extra virgin olive oil tastings is included.

Costs (and inclusions)

This bike tour costs 35€ per person, 0€ baby until 5 years and 20€ for kids 6-12 years. The tour can also start from your accomodation, the costs vary depending on the location, the number of participants and the services included.

Duration and Period

The starting time is at 9:00 or 15:30 and the duration is about 3 hours.

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd).
