Castel del Monte bike tour and tasting

Description

Our bike journey aims at discovering local history. Andria is the land of Federico II of Svevia, the city is known all over the world for Castel del Monte, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Moreover, the IGP product Burrata Cheese was first made by one of the farmers of our city.

To reach the Castle you need to go through the Alta Murgia National Park, the landscape here is generally characterised by dry stone walls, rock formations and vast steppes. We can stop to look up flora and fauna, reaching an Agritourism at the foot of the castle. Here in the heart of Murgia our tasting menu is presented: the high quality food and wine are selected by our chef and sommelier.

After the break we are going to visit the old castle. One of the most unresolved enigma is about its function, the fortress has no moat and the position has no war strategy, the historians assume that it was a temple or a study place. These places have a mystic beauty.

The Ticket includes: one bike rent with helmet, high-visibility vest and bag, tasting menu and technical assistance.

Costs 

Price starting from € 80 per person with a minimum of 4 people. Entrance tickets to Castel del Monte are not included (about €7). If desired, upon request, it is possible to add a tourist guide to Castel del Monte for a small extra fee.

Starting time

The starting time can be agreed with the organizer. The duration is approximately 7 hours.

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd).
