Authentic orecchiette making in Alberobello

Description

Between the trulli of Alberobello and the hills of Locorotondo, a family-run restaurant welcomes guests for an authentic cooking class of traditional Apulian orecchiette, in a warm and friendly atmosphere where you truly feel like part of the family.
The kitchen, inspired by traditional Puglian recipes, offers simple and genuine dishes, featuring wood-fired bread and vegetarian or vegan options. No fish is served, except during certain times of the year when fresh local mussels are available.

The experience offers three options to choose from, all beginning with a friendly welcome including amaro, coffee, and water:

• Orecchiette cooking class: An authentic hands-on experience that begins with a small welcome aperitif: water, a glass of wine, olives, taralli, capocollo, and warm homemade bread.
  After the aperitif, you put on your apron and follow a demonstration by the mother of the family, who shows how to make traditional handmade orecchiette.
  Then it’s your turn: you knead, shape, and create your own pasta, which you can take home or enjoy on the spot.
  
• Cooking class + lunch: A more complete experience that combines the cooking lesson with a traditional lunch.
  After preparing your orecchiette, you sit down to enjoy a typical Apulian menu: assorted appetizers, orecchiette with tomato sauce, pork capocollo with fried potatoes, sorbet or dry pastries, and drinks included (house wine and water).
  Local bottled wines are also available upon request.
  
• Lunch only: for those who simply wish to enjoy the culinary side of the experience, it’s possible to choose lunch only, with dishes freshly prepared according to family recipes and served in a warm, rustic, and convivial atmosphere.

• Cooking class: €50 per person

The experience can be held for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 participants at a time.
In some cases, it is possible to host larger groups.

The starting time can be defined with the organizers when booking.
The experience lasts:

• 1 hour: cooking class only
• 1 hour and 45 mins: cooking class + lunch

Where it takes place

The experience takes place in the countryside of Alberobello, and transportation is required to reach the location. Further details about the location will be shared after booking.

The organizers speak English and Italian.

How to book

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd).

This activity depends on the weather conditions: in case of unfavorable weather, the organizer can propose to postpone it or, if impossible, will cancel it (with full refund).
