Step into the timeless world of stone craftsmanship, in the heart of Puglia.
In this artisan workshop, you’ll discover the patience, rhythm, and beauty of an ancient art handed down through generations. You’ll learn the basics of stone carving using the same compact tuff employed for centuries in local architecture — the precious Pietra di Corigliano, pale, porous, and surprisingly gentle under the tools.

After a welcome coffee and a short visit to the craftsman’s showroom, you’ll choose a model piece and recreate it with your own hands, using saws, chisels, and traditional tools, guided step by step by a local master artisan.
Wearing your apron, gloves, and mask, you’ll feel the authentic thrill of shaping raw stone into a unique object, carving both form and memory at once. You’ll be able to take your creation home as a tangible keepsake of your experience.

If you wish, the workshop can end with a convivial aperitivo featuring local delicacies: taralli, friselle, olives, and a glass of Apulian wine, surrounded by the scent of stone dust and lime.

Pricing

The cost of the stone workshop is €80 for one person and €65 per person for two participants, with discounted rates for larger groups.
€15 per person must be added to carry the experience in English.
If you’d like to organize a shared experience with friends, family, or colleagues, contact our team and we’ll provide all the details about group discounts and customizable options.

Starting time

The schedule of the experience can be arranged at the time of booking.
The duration is 2 hours for the workshop alone, or 3 hours if the aperitivo is included.

The stone workshop takes place around 3 km away from Locorotondo.

How to book

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd).

This activity depends on the weather conditions: in case of unfavorable weather, the organizer can propose to postpone it or, if impossible, will cancel it (with full refund).
