Archaeological Experience in the Daunia (north Puglia)

Description

A journey into the world of Daunian Archaeology: we will visit the Museum and its archaeological exhibitions that allow you to admire a complex of splendid colored marbles, among them the well-known series of sculptural griffins. The artifacts were found in the 70s by diggers located in the territory of Ascoli and were purchased by an art dealer from the J.P. Getty Museum in Malibu, California. After an investigation carried by the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, the Musem had to return the artifacts to the Italian State.

Later on, “luxury in the tombs of Ascoli Satriano” can also be admired in an exhibition that intends to highlight the various aspects of luxury in the funeral dimension, showing artifacts from archaeological excavations conducted in more than fifty years of research in the territory.

Costs 

The cost is € 10 per person for min. 1 person and max. 16 people. Anything not mentioned is excluded.

The starting time can be arranged with the organizer. The experience is available all year long.

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd).
