Lecce Baroque and Underground

Description

Lecce is a magical city, but … not only on the surface! During this tour we will see together the famous Lecce Baroque, but without losing the mysteries of the underground Lecce!

We will start by visiting the Basilica di Santa Croce, jewel of Lecce’s Baroque, and we will continue to Sant’Oronzo square, where you can see the the Old Town Hall “Sedile”, the Roman Column and the Amphitheatre, important remains of Lecce’s glorious Roman heritage. Walking through Corso Vittorio Emanuele, we will see historical buildings of the 16th, 17th and 18th century and the Church of Saint Irene. Then we will visit Duomo square, with the Archbishop’s Residence, the Seminary, the Bell Tower and the Cathedral.

The tour will take you to the underground museum Palazzo Taurino: Medieval Jewish Lecce, situated in the core of the Jewish area, and in particular on the remains of the Synagogue, with its mikveh and mezuzah.

Costs 

The cost is € 30 per person, anything that is not mentioned is excluded.

Starting time

The starting time can be agreed with the organizer. The duration is approximately 2 hours.

How to get there

We can meet in the central square of Lecce (piazza sant’Oronzo), from which we will start our tour. Immediately after the booking we will feel to agree to the best.

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd).
