In the historic center of Lecce, surrounded by Lecce stone, traditional workshops, and sunlit squares, you can enjoy a tasting experience that brings together the most authentic flavors of Salento: extra virgin olive oil, local wines, and traditional specialties prepared as they always have been.

Olive Oil Tasting in Piazza Duomo

Inside a characteristic shop overlooking Piazza Duomo, you’ll taste two different varieties of extra virgin olive oil (sometimes even four), served with local tarallini.
It’s a short but intense introduction to Salento’s “green gold,” perfect for discovering the aromas and distinctions between different cultivars.

Food Tour: Three Stops of Flavors and Tradition

The culinary experience unfolds over three tasting stops, all within the city center. Guests move independently from one stop to the next, following the directions provided.

At the first stop, you’ll try some of the great classics of Salento: pizzo (local bread with onions, olives, or tomato), rustico leccese, taralli, and olive oil.
The second stop focuses on traditional sweets: dried figs, almond paste, chocolate-coated hazelnuts, and cartellate, all paired with a glass of Moscato.
The third stop offers a selection of local capocollo and cheeses, ending the tour with the most intense flavors of Salento’s gastronomy.

Wine Tasting in Piazza Duomo

For those who want to delve into the region’s wines as well, a guided tasting of four wines is available, served with a board of cheeses, taralli, and capocollo.

• Food tour: €25 per person (min. 2 – max. 15 people)
• Wine tasting (min. 2 – max. 10 people):

How to book

👍- You and the Organizer will talk by phone and meet on the day of the activity. You will complete the payment directly to him/her. 

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd).

This activity depends on the weather conditions: in case of unfavorable weather, the organizer can propose to postpone it or, if impossible, will cancel it (with full refund).
