Trekking in the Gargano National Park and food tasting in a farmhouse

Description

There are so many paths for trekking available in the park, and you will only have to choose. Here is an example: we will start in the surroundings of Vieste from a suggestive 19th century farmhouse, and after a gradual climb of about 3 km, we will take a downhill path that will take us to the Pozzillo Valley, near the Umbrian forest, a charming valley completely immersed in a fir forest. We will travel through this valley for about 3 km and then take a comfortable cart road that will take us back to the farm where we can witness – in some periods – the production of mozzarella; moreover it will be possible to taste specialties and typical products. Those who do not want to have lunch in the farm will be able to provide their own packed lunch. The route is classified as “easy” (difficulty E, according to the CAI convention), with about 15km and 350m in altitude. Trekking shoes are required. By prior arrangement, it is possible to stay overnight in the masseria.

*Costs 

The cost is € 68/pers. for only 2 participants, and € 58/pers. for groups of 3 people or more. The activity of the guide is included for the whole day, and in some routes even a tasting in the farm. Lunch is not included, but available on request, and is not included anything not expressly mentioned. On request, some organizers offer a free ride by car to reach the starting point.

Starting time

The departure time is communicated by the organizer, and depends on the weather conditions. The total duration is approximately 6 hours. In any case, it is important to arrive 15 minutes before the start. The excursions take place all year round.

How to get there

The departure is from Vieste, or other locations in the Gargano depending on the route chosen by the guest or proposed by the organizer. Arrival is required 10-15 minutes prior to departure. After booking it will be possible to speak by phone for more details.

Requirements

None, comfortable clothing and hiking shoes are recommended.

Language

PlacenPeople organizers speak Italian and some also English; the presence of interpreters is possible on request.

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd). This activity depends on the weather conditions: in case the organizer judges the ctivity not feasible, he can propose to postpone it or, if impossible, can cancel it (with full refund).
