Naturalistic walk in the archaeological park in Manduria (Taranto)

Description

Experience an immersion in nature and culture at the same time: an archaeological-naturalistic walk into history and myth in one of the largest monumental parks in our region.

The guided excursion includes a historical-archaeological study on the origin of the Messapian civilization (Messapia – land between two seas – included all of Salento) and an illustration with a naturalistic shape. The route will go through 4 main points of interest: the Plinian Fountain, the Megalithic Walls, the Necropolis – over 1300 pit tombs! – and the splendid Church of San Pietro Mandurino with hypogeum.

The excursion is suitable for everyone and sports clothing and a personal supply of water are recommended. A tasting surprise starring the precious Primitivo di Manduria will brighten the finale of this journey into the Messapi civilization. You will savor and rejoice with all your senses of this experience.

Costs 

* The cost is € 25 per person for small groups, while discounts are available for groups of more than 5 people. Some organizers also accept only 1 participant, most require a minimum of 2 or 4 people (we will check with you at the time of booking); the duration is about 2 and a half hours, and the cost includes the guide service of the organizer inside the park and a small tasting, while the entrance ticket of 3 euros (necessary) and any meals is not included.

Starting time

The starting time is flexible, however the organizer reserves the right to indicate one precisely during the booking phase.

How to get there

Reaching the archaeological area is not complicated, and can be reached by car. Some organizers are available to give a free ride by car (depending on the place of departure). The organizer will give all the necessary information by phone as soon as the reservation is made.

Language

The organizers speak Italian or English. Other languages ​​are available upon request for a small surcharge.

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd). This activity depends on the weather conditions: in case the organizer judges the ctivity not feasible, he can propose to postpone it or, if impossible, can cancel it (with full refund).
