Bread workshop in Matera

Description

Come and discover the ancient white art of Matera with this bread workshop. An experience in one of the city’s historic bakery, to discover Matera’s bread and traditional baked goods. Smell, hearing, sight and touch will be activated by the colors, sounds and scents that the oven can give.

A laboratory in which we will tell you the history of Matera through bread and we will reveal the secret of its recipe. It will be an opportunity to literally put your hands in the dough in a real traditional and modern bakery at the same time. A small tasting will follow with focaccia, bread, wine and a final dessert. You will discover how in Matera tradition and innovation have been mixed in the art of baking.

This activity is managed by multiple organizers, according to their availability, we will provide you with all the additional information when you contact us for the reservation.

Costs 

From 2 to 6 people the cost is € 50 per person

From 7 to 12 people the cost is € 45 per person

From 12 to 20 people the cost is € 40 per person

The cost includes the lesson and the ingredients used. At the end of the workshop it will be possible to taste the prepared delicacies and a taste of other typical products. Interpreters for English or other languages ​​are on request at a cost of € 35 per group.

Children up to 6 years do not pay, from 7 to 10 the cost is € 20 per child.

Starting time

The workshops are preferably available in the morning and the entrances are open from 9.30 to 12.30. The recommended time is 11.30. Upon request, an afternoon opening between 5 and 7 pm is possible. The workshop lasts about 1 hour and a half and is available all year round from Monday to Saturday; the Organizer could, according to production needs, ask for a different time during booking. 

How to get there

The workshops of our Organizers are located in Matera, which can also be reached on foot from the center in 15-20 minutes. After booking, however, it will be possible to speak by phone for information on the precise point.

Language

The majority of organizers speak a basic English; anyway this is not a problem for understanding each other while using the ingredients, the workshop is very practical 🙂 In case you prefer to have a translator, this is possible with a little extra (see costs).

Cancellation

By completing the payment, you agree to the Terms of Use. In case of cancellation, only the deposit is lost. Cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before midnight on the date of the activity by writing to PlacenPeople and the Organizer (e.g. activities on July 5th, cancellation possible until July 3rd). This activity depends on the weather conditions: in case the organizer judges the ctivity not feasible, he can propose to postpone it or, if impossible, can cancel it (with full refund).
