In this workshop in just over 2 hours we will learn the basis of the main Apulian dances, including the famous Pizzica, a traditional dance that hides behind ritualized movements and steps, important meanings related to courtship: this dance was the way – historically- that girls and boys had to meet, without running into the limitations of the style of the society of the time. The Pizzica has ancient roots, and has been used both as a form of seduction between man and woman, both to alleviate with the movement the effect of poison for those who had been bitten by the tarantula (hence the name “pizzica” -> pinch). There will be the story of this dance, but there will also be a long practical part, in which you will learn movements, rhythms, gestures typical of the Apulian dances. Bring comfortable clothes with you (and if you want a change too), and the desire to have fun and curiosity!
The cost is € 40 per person for a minimum of 2 participants, and includes the lesson by the dancer.
The departure time can be agreed with the organizer. The laboratory is available all year round, possibly the date must be requested with a little notice .. if not, we will do our best 🙂
