Cherries and olives are of considerable importance in Puglia, both from an economic and cultural point of view. The Apulian region is renowned for the production of both of these fruits and enjoys a favorable climate which favors their cultivation.
Cherries are a typical Apulian product and are grown in different areas of the region. Puglia is one of the leading cherry producers in Italy, with local varieties prized for their sweet, juicy flavour. The cherry and olive harvest is a highly anticipated moment and you will be able to take part in one of the most awaited moments of Apulian agriculture, you will also receive a free basket with your harvest and you will be able to taste these exceptional products.
From a cultural point of view, cherries and olives are fundamental ingredients of Apulian cuisine. They are used in various traditional recipes, enriching dishes such as desserts, jams, appetizers and main courses. The cultivation of these fruits, moreover, is part of Puglia’s rural identity, with numerous festivals and festivals dedicated to the celebration of cherries and olives throughout the year.
The price of this activity is €25 per person with a minimum of two people.
The harvest lasts 2 and a half hours. The cherry harvest takes place in June and the olive harvest from October to November.
